Kimi Raikkonen said his Brazilian Grand Prix was one of the few this year where he has had a "normal" level of performance.

Raikkonen finished eighth behind Ferrari team-mate Fernando Alonso, but decided to adopt an unconventional two-stop strategy after a poor start dropped him to 12th. Nevertheless, he said the car's performance and balance was closer to what he had been hoping for this year.

"Over the whole weekend the car has been more normal and I could drive it more normally," he said. "It's definitely been better and the tyres lasted pretty well. It's been going in the right way but there is still work to be done as a package, but we know that and we have been improving."

Raikkonen said a two-stop strategy became an option after his first pit stop.

"It was during the second stint because the tyres seemed to last pretty well. You can usually run longer in the last stint because the circuit gets better. We had some small issues in the pit stop, but overall we did a good job really. Knowing what we know now we could have planned it a bit better, but I think we did the best we could have done."
