Alonso chased me 'like a bull' - Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton has no complaints with Fernando Alonso after the two went wheel to wheel and made contact fighting over second position at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Hamilton came under attack from Alonso in the final stint of the race and ultimately lost out in the second DRS zone on the 63rd lap. The made contact in the skirmish and did so again when Hamilton tried to fight back two laps later and was blocked by Alonso into the final hairpin.

"I think some small part of my wing came off," Hamilton said. "We were very close, it was a good battle and he was very fair.

"Double DRS [zones] is a bit of a pain in the backside because the Ferrari is so quick with the DRS in a straight line so it was impossible to hold him behind. Even when I got in the DRS behind him I was on the limiter so I couldn't pull past him, which was a little bit unfortunate."

At one stage Hamilton was being fed information over the radio by his engineer but asked for radio silence, saying: "Please just let me drive, man". He said he was absolutely on the limit and could not afford any distractions.

"Being hunted down by Fernando is like being chased down by a bull," Hamilton added. "I just don't need anyone talking to me in my ear when I was on the maximum I could possibly drive. When you're at the maximum that is when you can easily crash so I don't need any distractions."

Hamilton admitted he was disappointed after the race.

"It's a little bit disappointing and it would have been nice to have kept second, for sure. We didn't have the pace of the Red bulls and we saw Fernando close us down a lot. We had a lot of traffic, which wasn't helpful, but Fernando was generally quicker. We've still taken a step up in the constructors' which is a massive bonus for us."
