KP issues positive injury update

England batsman Kevin Pietersen has issued an upbeat bulletin on his fitness ahead of this weekend's one-off Twenty20 International against India at Eden Gardens.
Pietersen was forced to miss the final match of the One Day International series, which India won 5-0, due to a broken thumb sustained whilst fielding on Sunday in Mumbai.
He will stay with the rest of the squad in Kolkata ahead of Saturday's clash, which he is hopeful of playing some part in. "Bruising going down on the break", Pietersen tweeted.
Meanwhile, former England coach David Lloyd has said the traditional methods of coaching are stopping the national side from succeeding on the sub-continent. "English cricketers are taught what I would call the MCC method," Lloyd told the Daily Mail.
"It's all about following the coaching manual: foot to the pitch of the ball, head over it, drive through the line. It's 'crunch' cricket, but there's little finesse - and that's what you need if you're to succeed on the sub-continent.
"With England it is all stiff wrists and hammering the ball into gaps. It's fine in English conditions, where there's a bit of bounce, seam movement and pace. But on slow, low wickets like the ones we've seen out here [in India], you need a rethink."
