Novak Djokovic has set his sights on the 2012 French Open title after his breathtaking victory over Rafael Nadal in Monday's US Open final.

Djokovic produced arguably the best tennis of his career to chalk up his third grand slam title of the year, adding to successes at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Nadal was seen off 6-2 6-4 6-7(3) 6-1 by the world No. 1, who has now won an incredible 64 of 66 matches this year.

Victory at Flushing Meadows lifts Djokovic's grand slam tally to four, but he is already targeting the career Grand Slam, which would require the Serb to win at Roland Garros in order to complete the set.

The clay court form of Djokovic during 2011 bodes well for his ultimate goal, having beaten Nadal - the King of Clay - in both Madrid and Rome. Djokovic laughed off claims that he has become unstoppable, but he does have his eye on the one major crown to have eluded him.

"I am not invincible," Djokovic said. "I just think a positive attitude keeps you on top of your game, when you go on court and when I had the start to the year that I had.

"Of course I want to win more majors and prove things to myself. It would be unbelievable to complete the Grand Slam. I need to win the French Open, but I think it will take time."

Djokovic's latest triumph cements his place at the top of the ATP Tour rankings, where Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was the only man to invade the top ten at the expense of Nicolas Almagro.

Oliver Golding, who won the boys' title at Flushing Meadows, is ranked 792 in the world due to the fact that his success does not count towards ATP Rankings points.
