Great Britain rounded off a highly successful Davis Cup weekend by completing a 5-0 whitewash of Hungary in Glasgow.

Having secured their promotion back to Europe/Africa Zone Group I on Saturday by building an unassailable 3-0 lead, Andy Murray and Colin Fleming both triumphed on Sunday.

Murray was imperious in his opening singles rubber on Friday, swatting away Sebo Kiss in straight sets - a performance that had captain Leon Smith underlining how important the Scot is to Britain's future in the competition.

He was less fluent against Gyorgy Balazs, and admitted afterwards that he was struggling with fatigue, eight days after competing in the semi-final of the US Open. Nonetheless, he triumphed in straight sets - 7-6(3) 6-3 - at Braehead Arena.

"I wanted to play and I'm sorry I didn't play my best. I'm really, really tired; it has been a long few months," Murray said. "I thought he played very well today and he made me do a lot of the running. I was hoping to reverse those roles today but he kept me on the run.

"I just think it's important for [Great Britain] to try to win as many matches as possible. We have done well in the last few ties and I just wanted to keep the momentum going so it was great to get the win today."

In the final match of the tie, Fleming beat Kiss 6-4 6-3.
