Anderson Silva 'doesn't want to renew' UFC contract

UFC fans may only see Anderson Silva inside the Octagon four more times, after Ed Soares revealed the middleweight champion "doesn't have any interest" to renew his contract.
Silva is widely acknowledged to be the most talented fighter even seen in the UFC. The Brazilian has never lost whilst fighting for MMA's biggest promotion, taking out the likes of Rich Franklin, Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen and Forrest Griffin - to name just four.
However, Silva turns 37 next year and, having recently formed a partnership with former soccer star Ronaldo's 9INE marketing company, the champion is beginning to realise opportunities away from mixed martial arts.
Silva is a huge star globally, but his stock in Brazil is on another level. Currently left with four fights on his UFC contract, the genial striker will undoubtedly fight into his 38th year, and Soares doubts he will want to go on beyond that marker.
"It's really hard to say, but as of right now, he has four fights on his contract and right now he doesn't have any interest to renew," Soares told Sherdog Radio Network's Rewind show.
"He just wants to take one fight at a time, but it wouldn't surprise me if it ended up being only four fights."
