Northern Ireland hit for six by Dutch

An inexperienced Northern Ireland side were outclassed as Netherlands completed their preparations with a 6-0 romp at a the Amsterdam ArenA.

The visitors were prisoners in their own half from start to finish as a full-strength Oranje raced into a 4-0 half-time lead, with Arsenal's Robin van Persie (two), Wesley Sneijder and Ibrahim Afellay all on target.

Afellay made it five in the 51st minute before defender Ron Vlaar completed the scoring.

Denmark beat Australia 2-0 in Copenhagen. Captain Daniel Agger slotted home a 32nd minute penalty and substitute Andreas Bjelland struck from close range in the 68th minute for the home side.

Elsewhere, Poland wrapped up a regulation 4-0 win against Andorra. Ludovic Obraniak, Robert Lewandowski and a Jakub Blaszczykowski penalty put the Poles in command before half-time, and Marcin Wasilewski wrapped up the win with another spot-kick 13 minutes from time.
