Scott Jamieson claimed his maiden victory on the European Tour after winning the inaugural Nelson Mandela Championship in South Africa.

The Scot fired an eight-under-par round of 57 on Sunday before beating Eduardo de la Riva and Steve Webster in a play-off after the event was cut to 36 holes due to poor weather in Durban.

Jamieson, who surged up the leaderboard on Sunday after an opening round 66, saw his rivals fall by the wayside as De La Riva bogeyed the first play-off hole before Webster followed suit on the second to hand the 29-year-old victory.

"Starting the day I probably didn't think I would be standing here holding the trophy," Jamieson said. "But I knew I needed a fast start and I was lucky enough to get that."
