David Haye will mark his return to the ring in almost a year with a fight against Manuel Charr on June 29 at the MEN Arena in Manchester.

The 32-year-old former WBA heavyweight champion defeated Dereck Chisora in July 2012 in his last outing before retiring, but announced in March he would make a comeback in June. At the time of confirming his return an opponent was yet to be named.

However, that opponent will now be 'Diamond Boy' Charr, who called out for Haye to select him for a match, claiming he was "right here waiting" and tipped the winner of the bout to potentially face WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in the near future.

Managing director of Matchroom Sport Eddie Hearn revealed on Twitter: "It gives me unbelievable pleasure to announce we have agreed a long term promotional deal with @mrdavidhaye [David Haye] @boxingbooth [Haye's manager Adam Booth] and Hayemaker."

Hayemaker Promotions said on their website: "David Haye will go head-to-head with next opponent Manuel Charr at a press conference this Wednesday [May 1], after agreeing a deal to fight the top 10-ranked contender on June 29 in Manchester."

Charr has only been beaten once in his career when a fight against Vitali Klitschko was controversially stopped in the second round due to the Lebanon-born German having a cut above his eyebrow.
