Wilder 'open to' Tyson Fury fight

Deontay Wilder's camp are "open to" a fight with Tyson Fury, but the American will not be travelling over to Britain this summer to fight Dereck Chisora.

Wilder has long been viewed as a potential world champion and he burst onto the UK scene with a stunning knockout of Audley Harrison.

It was mooted in the aftermath of that fight that Wilder would return to England and promoter Frank Warren announced that a deal had been struck to fight Chisora.

That claim was quickly shot down, following the news that Wilder had been arrested and would in all probability not be able to travel out of America.

Wilder's camp are keen to keep him busy and it is likely that he will fight in July, but they still have British heavyweights in their sights - including Fury and David Price.

"Deontay is going to be fighting here in the US," Golden Boy promotion CEO Richard Schaefer is quoted as saying on boxingscene.com. "Deontay had some legal issues to deal with, it's not a good time to travel right now."

On the prospect of Wilder fighting in Britain, Schaefer said: "I am certainly not ruling out a Chisora fight. We would be open to that fight.

"We would be open to a Tyson Fury fight, We would be open to a David Price fight."
