Giant-killing Brit Richard Bloomfield continued to defy the odds as he booked his place in the semi-finals of the Campbell's Hall of Fame Championship by overcoming Ryan Harrison.

World No. 552 Bloomfield, who rocked the competition by defeating second seed Santiago Giraldo in the previous round, fought back from a set down to seal a 5-7 7-6(3) 7-5 triumph.

In a match where both players gave away precious little on the first serve, it was Bloomfield who won the battle when the pace was taken off the ball - he stole 22 of 35 points on the Harrison second delivery.

Bloomfield now moves on to face No. 5 seed Mardy Fish - conquerer of Andy Murray at Queen's - in the last four stage.

The 27-year-old's triumph was the second much-needed boost for British tennis on Friday, after the Davis Cup team raced into a 2-0 lead in their must-win tie against Turkey.
