Tyson Gay fired a warning to Usain Bolt as he clocked the fastest 100m time this year at a low-key athletics meet in Florida.

Just four days after Bolt could only manage 9.91s in the Czech Republic, his greatest rival to his world crown recorded a blistering 9.79s.

The American claimed victory ahead of Jamaica's Nickel Ashmeade and Kleston Bledman as all three men clocked sub-10 second times.

Gay, who beat Bolt on their last meeting in Stockholm last season, is gunning to dethrone the Jamaican at the World Championships in Korea later this year.
