Davide Rigon will complete most of Ferrari's running at the Young Driver Test at Silverstone this week, with just one Friday morning session being handed over to race driver Felipe Massa.

Different teams have taken different approaches to the test since the FIA announced that race drivers would be allowed to take part as long as they follow a run plan set out by Pirelli to analyse its new tyres. Car development work is reliant on drivers with less than two grands prix experience and Rigon, who is driving in the Blancpain Enduracnce Series this year, has been entrusted with the F138 this week.

Rigon tested for one day of the Young Driver Test at Magny Cours last year and has competed in Formula Renault 3.5 and GP2 in recent years. He is also one of Ferrari's simulator drivers alongsidePedro de la Rosa, who does not qualify for the test due to his previous experience in F1.

Massa will complete one morning of tyre testing on Friday with the team saying he "is keen to get back on track after his rather short [4 lap] German GP".
