McLaren looks set to keep Jenson Button and Sergio Perez at the team next year with an announcement expected soon.

Button has an option to extend his contract into next year and beyond, but in Belgium revealed it had not yet been signed. However, with both team and drivers keen to remain together an announcement that both Button and Perez will drive for the team in 2014 and beyond is expected soon.

"Let's just say both drivers have done a good job here and deserve a better McLaren next year and that's what we aim to give them," team principal Martin Whitmarsh said.

Ahead of last weekend's race Button told the press: "I think I have a contract for next year but I don't think it has a signature on it yet! But I really want to be here next year."

Joking with Whitmarsh on Saturday night at Spa, Button admitted: "That was very unfair of me!"

Perez also sees his future at McLaren.

"I am determined to stay in this team, I absolutely love this team," he said. "I know that this team can deliver, because I know the people and I know how hungry we are to win. I will stay here for that and be a champion for McLaren."

He added: "There are options on the contract [for next year] but I'm pretty sure I will stay here."
