Vitantonio Liuzzi was a comfortable winner of Felipe Massa's charity karting event in Brazil on Sunday.

The Challenge of the Stars - taking place at Beto Carrero World in Santa Catarina - also featured the likes of Massa, Rubens Barrichello, Nelson Piquet Jr and Sebastien Buemi, but it was Liuzzi who dominated from the start to top all of the practice sessions and take pole position.

In the race, Lucas di Grassi kept the former HRT and Force India driver occupied early on before dropping behind both Massa - after a particularly robust battle - and Buemi, and the squabble behind allowed Liuzzi to open up a comfortable lead which he was not to relinquish.

Buemi took second place while Massa won the race for third place by getting past Juilo Campos thanks to a late move, with Antonio Pizzonia fifth ahead of Daniel Serra and Piquet Jr.
