Drivers still have it too easy - Ecclestone
Bernie Ecclestone has hinted at more changes to the regulations in order to make racing more of a challenge for drivers.
Ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, the FIA has restricted radio traffic between pit wall and driver in an attempt to put the emphasis back on the man behind the wheel. Ecclestone said it was his idea to bring in the ban and said he plans to take it further still.
"I think none of the drivers want it [the radio]," Ecclestone said. "They are all happy that it has gone. They drive the cars, they should know what is wrong or right, they don't need someone on the pit wall telling them what to do.
"We have a regulation in force that drivers must drive the car unaided. They have been aided - and still are. Even if we get rid of this ship to shore as I call it, there are still a lot of aids that they should not have."
When it was put to Ecclestone that driving an F1 car is now too easy, he replied: "It is not easy, but it was easier than it was."
