High-profile engineers Nikolas Tombazis and Pat Fry have both left Ferrari as a year of bloodletting and reorganisation comes to an end at Maranello.

New team principal Maurizio Arrivabene is behind the latest restructuring of the team as more responsibility is given to technical director James Allison, who joined the team from Lotus in 2013. Chief designer Tombazis will be replaced by Simone Resta while Fry's position of engineering director will be covered by Allison for the time being.

Among Ferrari's biggest disappointments this year was its new V6 turbo power unit, which resulted in long-term engine boss Luca Marmorini leaving the team during the season. Now the engine side will be headed up by Mattia Binotto with chief power unit designer Lorenzo Sassi reporting to him. Massimo Rivola remains as team manager with the Ferrari Driver Academy still being overseen by Luca Baldisserri.

The restructuring represents the first major changes of new team principal Arrivabene, who was appointed just days after the season ended. He is the third Ferrari boss this year after Stefano Domenicali resigned in April and was replaced for seven months by Marco Mattiacci.

Arrivabene, who previously managed Philip Morris' sponsorship of the team, will also manage a newly founded Commercial Department, which will see the head of the team's press office Renato Bisignani promoted to a role as marketing manager and acquisition. The press office will now be run by Italian journalist Alberto Antonini.

Ferrari bosses will be hoping the restructuring will help stop the rot of six years without a title.
