Ecclestone and Montezemolo return to F1 board
Bernie Ecclestone has been reappointed to Formula One's board along with ex-Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo.
Ecclestone stepped down from the board of F1's holding company earlier this year while standing trial for bribery in Germany. The case came to an end in August when Ecclestone made a $100 million settlement with prosecutors.
On Thursday F1's controlling shareholder, CVC Capital, confirmed he would now return to the board andalso announced Montezemolo would return after he lost his place when he left Ferrari earlier this year.
Former chief executive of drinks giant Diageo, Paul Walsh, will also become a non-executive director from January 1 after weeks of speculation he may be being lined up to replace Peter Brabeck-Letmathe as chairman, who has recently been unwell.
