The FIA has published a new 2015 calendar that does not feature the Korean Grand Prix.

The race was subject to confirmation on the first official calendar published at the end of last year, but was added without the knowledge of the organisers. Scheduled just one week before the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, there was little doubt that it would be removed and the latest calendar shows a 20 race calendar as expected.

In December Bernie Ecclestone said the Korean GP was on the calendar for legal reasons, although there was also speculation that it had been included to try to force a loophole in the rules around the amount of engines each driver is permitted per season.

"[The organisers] would rather it not happen," Ecclestone said last month. "We have a contract with Korea, we have to put it on the calendar. If we had not done they could have sued us. We let them off for a year on the understanding they would be back."
