Pirelli says only its super-soft compound will be a completely new tyre in 2015 with the other three compounds evolutions of last year's.

Pirelli manufacturers four compounds of slick tyres for each F1 season, two of which are supplied to teams at each race. After taking a conservative approach last season, Pirelli is only slightly tweaking its hard, medium and soft compound tyres in the knowledge that the rapidly improving cars will give them harder workout this year.

"This year's tyres will be evolutions of the 2014 tyres, with just one completely new tyre: the supersoft, which has a fresh rear construction and compound," Pirelli motorsport boss Paul Hembery said. "The 2015 tyre range will be on track at Jerez in just a few days from now."

Pirelli is aiming to provide exciting racing in 2015.

"Last year we faced the biggest challenge that we had experienced since entering the sport, thanks to a completely new generation of cars that featured very different characteristics to before. Nonetheless, we met all our targets of helping to provide entertaining races, plenty of overtaking opportunities, diverse strategy options and an average of two pit stops per car at each grand prix, despite the many unknown factors for everybody."
