Former Toyota, Sauber and Caterham driver Kamui Kobayashi will race for Team LeMans in the Japanese Super Formula series in 2015.

Kobayashi lost his drive at Caterham when the team fell into administration last year, after which he tested for Team LeMans. The test was a success and Kobayashi will drive for the team in 2015 alongside Ryo Hirawaka and Loic Duval.

Writing on his Facebook page, Kobayashi said: "I join Super Formula series for 2015. Happy to back my home race after 12 years in Europe. I would like provide exciting driving and amazing show on track! All races will take place in Japan so please come to Japan and let's have a real race with me!"

The popular Kobayashi returned to F1 last year after fans raised money to secure a seat at Caterham.
