Andy Soucek expects to race in Formula One next season but has admitted he is unlikely to drive at Campos Meta.

Having won the 2009 Formula 2 championship, he was awarded with a Williams test at Jerez on December 1. He impressed the team and onlookers by setting the fastest time at the test, which is specifically designed for drivers with less than three grand prix under their belt. The Spaniard has admitted he only wants to drive in F1 in 2010 and believes he has the financial backing and talent to warrant a place.

"We don't have a plan B right now. We're really focusing on being in Formula One next year," he told Formula 2's official website. "That's our only aim. I have to say I'm really positive because I have a lot of help in Spain and from different sponsors, my manager and Jaime are doing a great job in discussions with different F1 teams. I'm pretty sure we can be on the grid next year.

"When you take everything in a pack, I won the [F2] title by 50 points and led an F1 test, so logic says I should have at least a seat in F1. Of course, motorsport is not logical at all, so we will have to wait and see to the last minute with what happens."

However, he has denied rumours suggesting he may by joining the Spanish squad Campos who are looking for a driver with substantial funds to partner Bruno Senna.

"Actually there was not much interest there," Soucek said. "I know it's a Spanish team and I'm a Spanish driver, so it's logical. But they actually require more budget than I have. I'm not in that position now."
