Felipe Massa took another victory in karts at the Granja Viana 500 race in Brazil, just one week after winning a heat in his own charity kart race the International Challenge of the Stars.
His participation in karts has been his first competitive racing since he crashed out of qualifying at the Hungarian Grand Prix in July. The accident left him with a skull fracture but he claims his victory in the 500 mile Granja Viana is proof that he will be race fit to drive in Formula One in 2010.
"I spent a huge amount of time in front of my TV set, just watching F1 and dreaming about the moment to come back," said Massa. "This has been a nice recovery, with my victory in the second heat of the International Challenge of the Stars last week in Florianopolis and now this result at Granja Viana."
He was teamed up for the endurance race with Lucas di Grassi, who is currently trying to find an F1 drive in 2010, and Stock Car Lights driver Julio Campos. Rubens Barrichello finished in third place with a separate team.
It is the second time Massa has won the race, having taken victory at the inaugural event in 1997. He dedicated this year's victory to his new-born son Felipinho.
