Felipe Massa says he accepted Lewis Hamilton's apology for the incident between the pair during the Monaco Grand Prix.

Hamilton tried to pass Massa in to the Loews hairpin, but Massa shut the door and contact between the pair damaged the Ferrari, causing Massa to crash exiting the tunnel later that lap. Despite still feeling Hamilton was in the wrong, Massa said that the matter was now closed after a phone call, saying it's not worth dwelling on the past.

"Everything I said about Lewis after the Monaco race is what I felt," Massa said. "Then he called me and he said "sorry" and the most important thing is that he understood what he did on track. So, this is fine and the matter is closed. Now we look forward because you don't gain anything from looking backwards. In Monaco, I was unable to finish the race or to score points, but that is in the past and now we look ahead - and I hope he understands everything that happened in the race."

Having criticised Hamilton's driving style after the race, Massa that he wasn't unhappy with him generally, just not pleased with the one manoeuvre in Monaco.

"I don't think it is what he is doing wrong [all the time], it is what he did wrong in the last race. He tried to pass in an impossible place, but that is it."
