Sky Sports have said it took only 48 hours for it to agree to share broadcast rights to Formula One with the BBC in 2012.

Barney Francis, managing director of Sky Sports, said the deal was completed within two days of the first approach. "It was presented to us in the summer. We had a very short time span to get involved and we showed great agility to move and secure those rights. It was all done in a couple of days."

He also told a meeting at the Sport Industry Breakfast Club that Sky had not ruled out working with the BBC to agree on aspects of the broadcasts.
