Lewis Hamilton will not be able to appear in court to give evidence in the trial of his friend Adrian Sutil at the end of this month, according to a BBC report.
Sutil will appear in court in Munich charged with assaulting Genii Capital's Eric Lux in a Shanghai nightclub last April. Hamilton was not involved in the incident but, according to a court spokeswoman, was asked to give evidence as a witness at the first day of the trial on January 30.
The BBC reports that Hamilton's lawyer has informed the court that his client is willing to co-operate, but will not be able to appear on the given date (two days before McLaren's launch) due to previous commitments.
The report added that it is not yet known whether a new date for Hamilton's appearance will be set.
