Ex-Formula One driver Tonio Liuzzi is set to make his debut in the World Endurance Championship this weekend.

Since losing his drive at HRT over the winter, Liuzzi has been driving in the International Superstars touring car championship and on August 26 will take part in the fourth round of the WEC championship at Silverstone. Liuzzi will share the No. 32 Lotus LMP2 car with Kevin Weeda and James Rossiter and said he is looking forward to the opportunity.

"I am very happy to get the chance to drive at the 6 Hours of Silverstone," he said. "I know the track quite well from Formula One races in the past. But driving here in the Lotus LMP2 car will be different, for sure.

"I already got experienced with the car during some test days earlier this season and I can't wait for my first race in the FIA World Endurance Championship. I want to thank Lotus for this great opportunity and I hope to have a good result in Silverstone."
