F1 return 'not just a dream' - Kubica
Robert Kubica believes he can make a return to Formula One and is confident he can be on the pace if he does.
Since sustaining horrific injuries in a rallying accident two years ago, Kubica has remained coy about his future plans with a gradual return to rallying and this week a DTM test. But in an interview with this month's F1 Racing magazine, he made his most promising comments yet about a return to F1.
"I still believe I can come back," he told F1 Racing. "It's not just a dream. Right now I have limitations driving single-seaters but they are less than they look from the outside. Day by day, rally by rally and test by test I see fewer limitations and my goal is one day to drive properly. I don't think pace will be a problem.
"When I drive it takes concentration and I forget my body's limitations. With the damage I have, I cannot [ever] achieve 100% of what I had before - but I hope to improve. If the limited pronation and supination were fixed 80%, I would say 'yes' to coming back to F1."
Kubica is testing a Mercedes DTM car on Thursday in Valencia, but ahead of the test played down its significance.
