Luca di Montezemolo has promised that Ferrari will "fight to the bitter end" of the championship this season.

After the drivers' title went down to the wire in 2012 - with Fernando Alonso ultimately losing out to Sebastian Vettel by three points - this year's championship is likely to be wrapped up by Vettel in India this weekend. Vettel only needs a fifth-place finish to become champion, with Alonso having to finish in the top two to have any chance of extending the battle to Abu Dhabi.

However, Montezemolo is focused on securing second place in the constructors' championship ahead of Mercedes and Lotus, and as a result says there will be no let-up from Ferrari despite not being in the mix for titles.

"We must fight to the bitter end in this championship that has disappointed me and that none of us are pleased with," Montezemolo is quoted as saying by AGI. "We will do battle to try and come home with the second place, proving that Ferrari remains high in the ranking, up there with the best and I think everyone is concentrated on achieving this."
