Felipe Massa says it is "fantastic" that he is able to finish his Ferrari career at his home race in Brazil.

With Ferrari re-signing Kimi Raikkonen to race alongside Fernando Alonso in 2014, Massa will switch to Williams following eight years as a Ferrari driver. With the Brazilian Grand Prix marking his final race with the team, Massa said he hopes to secure a strong result to go out on a high.

"It's a fantastic place to race and finish an incredible time with Ferrari," Massa said. "It's a very long time, eight seasons, but I was inside Ferrari even from before Formula One so it's a long time. I really just want to say thank you to all of them - everyone I've worked with together in Ferrari - and Stefano Domenicali as well who is a big friend and did a lot for me.

"Everybody I worked together with, so I hope we can enjoy the last race here for Ferrari, having a lot of fun and having a good result as well to be even more emotional at the end."

However, Massa said he was also looking forward to his new challenge with Williams and thinks he is joining at the right time.

"I really believe I can do a lot with Williams. Everything is changing; it's brand new rules for the championship so I think it is a good time to start something new and different. Williams has all the infrastructure to build a good car, so everything is possible. They believe in me so I'm really happy and motivated to drive for them, to work and to do everything I can to help the team be competitive again."
