Kimi Raikkonen would welcome Sebastian Vettel as his team-mate at Ferrari next year and is confident he will remain at the team no matter what.

Vettel will leave Red Bull at the end of the year and, although it has not been confirmed, is destined for Ferrari. Fernando Alonso is expected to leave the team, meaning Ferrari will line up with Vettel and Raikkonen in 2015.

"Yeah, for sure [I'd welcome him]," Raikkonen said. "I've never worked with him, I've been in a different team. I know him probably the best out of any of the drivers here but we'll see what happens in the future. I read the same stuff and hear the same stuff, so for me it's no issue."

Asked if he could confirm he would see out the second year of his current contract in 2015, he added: "I have a contract and that's what I expect to happen. I don't see that it's not going to happen, so it should be fine."

Raikkonen has hinted at moving on after 2015 this year, but he said no decision has been made yet and he is confident his performances will improve next season.

"There are options always, but we have to see and there's no point to talk about those now. I want to do better and as well as I can. We haven't had a very good year, sometimes a bit better feeling, but like today [Saturday] we had difficulties and problems in the morning. It's not a very tricky car but there's no front end.

"Once we get rid of those kind of things I know we can do well once we get things sorted out. I know what Marco has said and they don't expect to be at the front next year, but you never know. I think more things have happened in Formula One and we have a chance to make a good step and as long as it goes in the right direction, that's the main thing and to have a solid plan."

Asked about life with Alonso as a team-mate, Raikkonen said: "I don't think it's much different than any other team-mate before. Obviously it hasn't been a very good year for me, but he's doing a good job. I don't think there's much difference with it being him or last year in a different team, it's just a different personalities."
