Alonso is in Raikkonen's head - Massa
Felipe Massa believes Kimi Raikkonen's struggles at Ferrari this year are more down to the psychological impact of team-mate Fernando Alonso rather than any issue with his car.
Raikkonen replaced Massa at Ferrari alongside Alonso in what was a highly-anticipated driver line-up going into the current season but the Finn has struggled on his return to the Italian outfit, where he won the drivers' championship in 2007. While Alonso has amassed 141 points and sits sixth in the drivers' championship, Raikkonen has recorded just 47.
Massa drove alongside Alonso, widely considered to be the most complete driver of the current grid, at Ferrari between 2010 and 2013 and believes the presence of the Spaniard has been a big reason for Raikkonen's difficult return season.
"It is not easy to be [Alonso's] team-mate, and for sure the problem Kimi is having [him] is in his head," Massa said. "It's very difficult [to be his team-mate], because first of all he [Alonso] is an amazing driver; his talent is really complete. He's one of the quickest drivers, but also one of the most consistent drivers, one of the more aggressive - he has everything. He is a top driver."
