The Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) has cut its ties with Daniel Zampieri and Mirko Bortolotti after a year's support in the driver development programme.

The FDA was launched this year to help support rising talent and has worked alongside a selected group of drivers to improve their mental and physical preparation. However, Zampieri, who won the Italian F3 championship last year but finished ninth in the Formula Renault 3.5 in 2010, and Bortolotti, who struggled in GP3 this year, have been dropped from the programme.

Sauber driver Sergio Perez, GP2 star Jules Bianchi, Formula ACI-CSAI Abarth champion Brandon Maisano and Canadian karter Lance Stroll remain in the FDA, while Nicola Costa was recently added for winning the Formula Future Fiat title in Brazil.

FDA director Luca Baldisserri revealed that the best race results of those entered in the programme came from the Frenchman Maisano.
