Italian F3 drivers complete Ferrari test

Italian Formula 3 drivers Sergio Campana and Michael Lewis tested a 2009-spec Ferrari at Vallelunga on Wednesday.

The annual test is awarded to the winner of Italian F3 and the best rookie with Italian Campana taking the title outright this season while Canadian Lewis was the best newcomer with three wins. Lewis completed 45 laps of the 4.085km track, with a best time of 1.21.040 while ran for 43 laps with a best time of 1.20.600.

Head of the Ferrari Driver Academy Luca Baldisserri said: "Our commitment to the youngsters in the Italian F3 will definitely run in 2012. Since 2008, we have offered this opportunity to the most deserving drivers from the series, running them in our F1 car, which, if only for a day, gives them a chance to realise their dream of getting close to the world of Ferrari."
