MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi spent a day in Ferrari's new simulator in Maranello preparing for his upcoming test in a 2008 F1 car.

Rossi will drive the Ferrari on January 20 at Barcelona as a reward for winning the 2009 MotoGP title. There had been concerns that he might miss the test due to an inflamed appendix, but Rossi appeared fit and ready after a quick hospital visit for antibiotics.

While at the Ferrari base he also drove its new road car, the 458 Italia. The car has not been released to the public yet but Rossi emerged full of praise about it after a handful of laps around the Fiorano test track.
