Ferrari has made minimal progress over the last two days of wet-weather testing in Jerez, according to Felipe Massa.

A second day of rain showers on Thursday meant that Massa was just one of a number of drivers left frustrated by limited dry running. He will hand the car over to Fernando Alonso tomorrow and is likely to complete only two more days of testing before the start of the season.

When asked if Thursday's test had been any more useful than Wednesday's Massa replied: "No, not really. It was pretty similar conditions: raining, stopping, raining, stopping. Today the track was actually much worse because of the very strong wind.

"It was not so positive, but it's the same for everybody. It's important to be here, running in the wet and in the dry. It doesn't matter what the conditions are like, it's important to run and put mileage on the car. We are maybe the team who ran the most, so I think that's positive."

He said that Ferrari wasn't able to focus on developing the car's speed and instead had to devote its time to reliability testing.

"It's just mileage," he said. "There was not a lot to do in terms of set-up, or to try something new on the car. It was just a day to run as much as possible and to understand some small issues that you can have in the first race."

When asked if Wednesday's pace setter Sebastian Vettel would be his main competitor Massa responded: "For sure he's one of our rivals. I expect a good Red Bull, especially after the end of last season. But I hope we can be there fighting for the best position, together with Red Bull, Mercedes and McLaren - they could be pretty strong. But at the moment it's a bit too early to say, so we are just concentrating on our job."
