Despite McLaren topping the times at Jerez, Fernando Alonso has warned that the Ferrari is yet to show its full potential.

His best time at the test in Spain was 1.5 seconds slower than the McLaren, but he told AS newspaper "there is no reason to be pessimistic" with another test to run in Barcelona next week. He also said that he believes than the Ferrari F10 is the best car he has ever had.

"Red Bull, McLaren and Renault have gone quick and shown their cards, we are still hiding ours," he said. "If I was with another team I would be looking at Ferrari, because everything so far is working very well."

He also suggested that the other teams may well be running with low fuel for qualifying simulations.

"This is where Red Bull and McLaren are showing very fast, and is certainly the basis for trying to improve the performance of the F10 at the next test in Barcelona," he said.

The final four days of pre-season testing will take place in Barcelona next week.
