Great Britain have taken a huge step towards guaranteeing Andy Murray's presence in their must-win Davis Cup encounter against Hungary, by selecting Glasgow's Braehead Arena as the venue for the match.

Murray left Glasgow with tears in his eyes after the recent 4-1 win over Luxembourg, declaring that he had not enjoyed on occasion so much in a long time. Now the Braehead Arena will play host again for a crucial tie for Britain.

The winner of the September 16-18 collision with Hungary will be promoted back to Europe/Africa Zone Group I. And with Murray on board Britain will be huge favourites.

The world No. 4 did not drop a game in his first singles rubber against Luxembourg, and he dropped only two points on serve during his second triumph. One of those wins came against the then-world No. 81 Gilles Muller, who ranks considerably higher than anything Hungary have to offer.

Team captain Leon Smith said: "The fans at the Braehead Arena gave us such tremendous support for the win against Luxembourg, so it's a great way of saying thank you to them. We know Hungary will be tough to beat but, if we get a full house behind us again, there's no reason why we can't make it back up into Group I of the Davis Cup again."

The Glasgow crowd developed a reputation for its wit in the Luxembourg contest, comically chanting "there's only one Colin Jackson" when Murray was forced to hurdle the advertising boards.
