Rovers claim no bid in for Samba

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean has insisted no bids have been tabled for Chris Samba and stated that the club would not welcome any approach for the defender.
Samba seemed set to leave Rovers mid-way through last season when Sam Allardyce departed, but was persuaded to sign a new deal.
The new contract has not stopped talk of a move away from Rovers for Samba, with Arsenal linked with the defender. The transfer window closes at the end of August, so it is likely to be a nervous few weeks, but so far there has been no offer from any club.
"We have had no bid for Chris and we have had no bid for any other player at this stage," Kean said. "We would like to keep it like that as Chris is only a couple of months into a five-year contract.
"Hopefully the bids don't come in and we can keep Chris. He was a part of a defence that was very solid at the end of the season and there has been no hint of any type of flatness coming back from the first day in Austria.
"The lads were flying, and that has carried on since we came back to the training ground."
