Kean determined to hang on to Samba

Blackburn boss Steve Kean has insisted the club have still not received any offers for highly sought-after defender Christopher Samba, with the Rovers manager remaining hopeful of keeping hold of the player.
Samba produced a number of eye-catching performances last season which reportedly attracted the attention of several Premier League outfits, including Arsenal, and the 27-year-old was touted for a move away from Ewood Park this summer.
Having stated he wished to leave the club when Sam Allardyce was sacked as manager by new owners Venky's before Christmas, Samba performed a U-turn by penning a long-term deal in February.
Despite signing a new contract, speculation of his future refuses to go away, leaving Kean to warn off possible suitors.
When asked whether there had been any offers for the player, Kean told Sky Sports News: "No. We're trying to keep Chris and the fact that he's a couple of months into a new five-year contract shows we were showing commitment to Chris.
"The owners backed the proposal that I put in front of them to say 'let's get Chris a new contract and show what we feel about Chris', and there have been no bids at all for Chris at this stage."
