Inter Milan are adamant that Wesley Sneijder is not for sale, despite ongoing reports that the midfielder is on his way to Manchester United.

While United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has played down reports, Sneijder himself has admitted he would be open to a move to Old Trafford.

Sneijder is currently in Beijing ahead of this weekend's Italian Super Cup against rivals AC Milan, in what could be the playmaker's last match for Inter. However, despite the intense media speculation, Inter chief executive Ernesto Paolilli insists the club have no intention of letting Sneijder leave Milan.

"Sneijder is here and he's an important part of our team," Paolilli told the club's official website. "Not so much of what is read in the papers is the truth. As for Sneijder, there is a complete intention that he will stay with us."
