Arsenal are bracing themselves for the departure of captain Cesc Fabregas, with the Gunners lining up Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Jadson as a replacement.

The Gunners look set to lose their skipper to Barcelona in a deal worth around £35 million, but it seems Arsene Wenger is already looking to spend the transfer money from the sale of the Spaniard, with reports in the French media claiming Jadson's representatives are in London to discuss terms.

Arsenal had a bid for Valencia star Juan Mata rejected, prompting Wenger to turn his attentions to the Brazilian, in a deal thought to be worth in the region of £10 million.

Following the arrival of Gervinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and this summer, Wenger is also pursuing Birmingham defender Scott Dann as he attempts to bolster his squad ahead of their Premier League campaign - which kicks off at Newcastle on Saturday, live on ESPN.
