Cesc Fabregas has assured Arsenal fans that their club's future is in safe hands, because they have Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey to heal the pain of his switch to Barcelona.

Fabregas sealed his dream return to the European champions on Monday in a deal worth an initial £25 million. He immediately launched a huge defence of former boss Arsene Wenger, saying he is the only man to take Arsenal forward.

Wenger has come under fire for failing to spend big money on improving Arsenal's squad, with perceived defensive problems from last season still to be addressed.

The current mood around the Emirates is certainly not one of optimism, but Fabregas insisted they have two young Brits who can lead the Gunners into a new era. Wilshere, in Fabregas' eyes, will become England's most important player, and he put Ramsey on a similar platform.

"I've seen Aaron for three years and Jack for two-and-a-half years. Jack will be the next England captain in a few years, that's not even a question," Fabregas stated.

"You don't have to be a magician to know that he's got the capacity to dribble, to pass, he will go on to become a top player of the future. There's not even a question about that.

"Aaron has done unbelievable and he will get better with his final ball. He'll become the next big star at Arsenal. Jack and Aaron are the future, and they will do so well because they are competitive and they are winners.

"They will be amazing for the club."

Arsenal are currently preparing for Tuesday's Champions League qualifier with Udinese, but they have a disciplinary issue surrounding Alex Song hanging over them. The midfielder has until 6pm on Tuesday to answer a charge of violent conduct, after he allegedly stamped on Joey Barton.
