QPR could launch an £8 million bid for West Ham's Scott Parker if, as expected, Tony Fernandes' bid to buy the club is confirmed on Thursday.

The Malaysian airline entrepreneur has been strongly tipped to take control of the newly-promoted club, with a press conference called for Thursday monrning.

Fernandes, owner of the low-cost airline AirAsia, is set to buy a 51% stake from Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone, who has been the majority owner of QPR for the past five years.

And according to the Evening Standard, Fernandes is prepared to hand manager Neil Warnock the money to pull off the signing of England international Parker.

The 30-year-old, who scored in West Ham's 4-0 win at Watford on Tuesday night, is keen to move back to the Premier League to help his chances of being picked for the national side.
