Arsenal have confirmed they have reached an agreement for the sale of midfielder Samir Nasri to Manchester City.

Nasri, who had trained with his Gunners team-mates as normal on Tuesday morning, will now head north to Manchester for a medical and to finalise personal terms. He will not be involved in Arsenal's Champions League clash against Udinese on Wednesday.

The France international had been linked with a move to Manchester City throughout the summer, as he entered the final year of his contract at Emirates Stadium. And now a deal - reported to be worth in the region of £25 million - has finally been agreed by both clubs.

"Arsenal can confirm that they have agreed terms for Samir Nasri to move to Manchester City," a club statement said. "The 24-year-old midfielder, who has spent three years with the Gunners, has been omitted from Arsenal's squad which flies to Udinese this afternoon and instead will travel north for a medical.

"The move will be subject to Nasri passing a medical and formal registration processes."

Nasri, who signed for Arsenal in the summer of 2008 from Marseille for a fee of £15.8 million, had previously rejected a new £90,000-a-week contract to stay at the club.

Lille star Eden Hazard has been linked with a move to Arsenal as Nasri's replacement, but the French champions have insisted they will rebuff any offer from the Gunners or any other club.

General manager Frederic Paquet told BBC Sport: ''Eden will not be leaving this season. We are aware of interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe but we are not prepared to sell. He is very happy here, he understands our project and wants to stay for at least another year.''
