Arsenal complete Arteta & Benayoun deals

Arsenal have completed the year-long loan signing of Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun, and he has been joined by Everton's Mikel Arteta.

Benayoun wrote on Twitter: "I sign with Arsenal, very happy and excited about it, but now my head is only in the game against Greece on Friday, thanks for the support."

The Gunners had seen a bid for Arteta rejected on Wednesday, with some suggesting a cash-plus-Nicklas Bendtner offer was not what the Toffees wanted.

But, facing a race against time to reach an agreement as they looked to bolster a midfield recently shorn of both Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, Arsenal clinched the deal with minutes to spare before the deadline.

Meanwhile, Arsenal new boy Joel Campbell has been sent out on a season-long loan to FC Lorient, while fellow youngster Gilles Sunu joined the French club permanently, having spent the end of last term on loan there.
