Under-fire Blackburn boss Kean facing fans protest

Unhappy Blackburn fans have planned a 1,000-strong protest against under-fire manager Steve Kean ahead of their game against Arsenal this weekend.

Kean has picked up just a single point from Rovers' four games so far this season and fans have been signing an online petition to have him removed from his post and replaced by a more experienced boss.

"The numbers [at the protest] look like hitting the 1,000 mark so the fans are keen to have Steve Kean removed," Glen Mullan, the organiser of the march, told reporters.

"It's going to be a peaceful march, but we want to make our point and there will be banners made. It's about time the owners listened to the fans. We want someone who is experienced and can relate to the fans.''

Blackburn owners Venky's have previously stated that they would back Kean, but as the club currently sit bottom of the league they may be forced to act before the situation gets any worse.

However, striker Ruben Rochina, who scored a stunning goal in Blackburn's 1-1 draw against Fulham last week, believes his side can upset Arsenal.

"Fulham are a good team and I think it was a good point," he told the Lancashire Telegraph. "It was very important. The game wasn't at home, it was a difficult game.

"Arsenal is a good game but I think we must work hard and I think we can win the game. They are a great team but we have many good players and a good team. I think we can win. Next weekend I will try for that, and the other players the same."
