Fabio Capello revealed he believes Premier League club Manchester City to be "among the strongest sides in Europe".

The comments come as the England boss again insisted Inter Milan do not require his services, instead urging the club to give current manager Gian Piero Gasperini time to turn the club's crisis around.

Capello has been linked with the top job at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza since former manager Leonardo departed to become director of football at Paris Saint-Germain, but has played down talk of a return to the Serie A at every opportunity.

"Inter do not need me," he said. "Let us give the coach time to do his work."

Since taking over the helm in June this year, Gasperini has guided the Nerazzurri to their worst start to a season since 1921, prompting club director Ernesto Paolillo to suggest they "cannot afford" to give the former Genoa man more time. The club suffered a humbling home defeat to Turkish outfit Trabzonspor in the Champions League this week, further fuelling speculation Gasperini's exit is imminent.

Capello, meanwhile, believes Inter are still a title contender in his homeland, while praising the recent efforts of Napoli against emerging Premier League powerhouse Manchester City.

"The Scudetto is between Milan, Juventus, Inter and Napoli. The Partenopei are doing very well and played a great game in the Champions League.

"Don't forget a draw away to Manchester City is a wonderful result, because I consider City to be without doubt among the strongest sides in Europe at the moment," he said.
