Gourcuff flattered by Arsenal's deadline day interest

Yoann Gourcuff has revealed he was "very, very happy" to see Arsenal make an approach for his services during the transfer window.
Arsenal made enquiries for several players with the window drawing to a close as Arsene Wenger sought replacements for Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, and Lyon playmaker Gourcuff, 25, was pleased that the Gunners expressed an interest.
"I am flattered by the interest shown by Arsene Wenger," Gourcuff told Sky Sports. "He is one of the top coaches in the world. He loves technical players so I am very, very happy to know that he was interested in me."
France international Gourcuff signed for Lyon from Bordeaux in a €22 million deal last summer, but he struggled for form and fitness during his debut season.
He has yet to make an appearance in the current campaign after undergoing ankle surgery in the summer but he said: "Now I am pushing to come back stronger for Lyon."
