Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed his frustration after effectively being gagged by the Football Association over the Patrice Evra-Luis Suarez affair.

Evra claimed last weekend that he had been racially abused by Suarez during the 1-1 draw between Manchester United and Liverpool and has asked his club to pursue the matter.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish said on Thursday that the Reds were 100% behind Suarez, but Ferguson claims he has been denied the chance to speak out in support of his player.

"The FA have sent a directive to us not to discuss it while the investigation goes on," Ferguson said. "They have interviewed Patrice.

"I have got plenty to say on the subject, but I suppose I will have to adhere to what they are saying.

"I would liked to have said something about Pat in this particular instance."
